About this bat

The SS TON Silver Edition is a serious performer in the SS TON Range — a full-profile English willow bat built for advanced club and league cricketers who want genuine TON craftsmanship at a competitive price. Designed to the specifications preferred by top-level players, it delivers the same profile principles and concave TON edge construction as higher-tier bats in the range, in a package that offers outstanding value.

The blade features a mid-to-low sweet spot with a full profile and slight concaving, providing a large hitting area suited to front-foot stroke play across all formats. The slight bow and massive concave TON edges work together to deliver an aggressive wide playing area with a flat face, excellent pick-up and powerful ball contact from toe to shoulder. It is particularly effective on slow, low pitches where a lower sweet spot gives you the advantage.

Handcrafted from air-dried English willow to optimal moisture levels, the Silver Edition arrives with embossed chrome stickers and SS authenticity hologram. The Sarawak cane handle with scale grip provides excellent shock absorption and energy transfer through the innings. As with all English willow bats, oiling and knocking in is required before match use — where bat preparation is enabled, we complete this fully before dispatch. Includes a premium portable SS bat cover.

Frequently asked questions

The Silver Edition sits in the mid-tier of the SS TON Range — above the entry-level Master Series and positioned as a genuine player's bat for serious club and league cricketers. It offers the same full-profile TON construction and concave edge design at a price below the Gold Edition, making it one of the best-value bats in the range.
The Silver Edition and Gold Edition share the same TON Range profile DNA — full profile, massive concave edges, mid-to-low sweet spot, flat face and Sarawak cane handle. The Gold Edition is the flagship of the range and uses hand-selected Grade 1 willow. Both deliver genuine TON performance; the Silver Edition offers excellent value at a lower price point.
A mid-to-low sweet spot is ideally positioned for front-foot play and works particularly well on slow, low pitches common in UK club cricket. The sweet spot sits lower on the blade, which means driving on the up, sweeping, and hitting through the line all feel natural. It suits players who like to meet the ball early and drive through the covers or mid-wicket.
Yes. Like all English willow bats, the Silver Edition requires oiling and knocking in before match use. If our bat preparation service is enabled, we handle this fully before dispatch — the bat arrives ready to play. If preparing yourself, apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil, leave overnight, then work through 3–4 knocking sessions progressing from light to heavy.
All SS English willow bats include a 3D hologram on the back of the bat and a stretchable barcode on the rear. The authentication number from the barcode can be verified on the SS Cricket website or through the SS mobile app to confirm the bat is a genuine SS TON product.
Most club players find the Silver Edition plays well at 2lb 8oz to 2lb 10oz. The full profile and slight bow help the bat pick up lighter than the scale weight suggests. Message Yaseer on WhatsApp and he will advise based on your playing style, position and the formats you play.
