About this bat

The SS Master 5000 is the entry point to SS TON's internationally endorsed Master Series — a powerful, full-profile English willow bat designed for advanced club and league cricketers who want professional-grade performance without paying top-tier prices. Developed to the specifications of international players including JP Duminy and Hanuma Vihari, the Master 5000 delivers the same aggressive shape and pick-up as the bats used at the highest level of the game.

The blade features a mid-to-low sweet spot with a full-back profile and minimal concaving — leaving maximum wood where it matters for power and ping. The distinctive concave TON edges measure approximately 38–40mm and provide a wide playing area with a flat face and devastating hitting power. The slight bow and full profile make it ideal for front-foot domination in all formats, with a particularly devastating impact in T20 and ODI cricket.

Handcrafted from air-dried English willow and freshly crafted for optimal moisture levels, the Master 5000 arrives with an embossed retro sticker and SS authenticity hologram. The 7-piece Sarawak cane handle with scale grip provides excellent shock absorption and energy transfer. As with all English willow bats, oiling and knocking in is required before match use — where bat preparation is enabled, we complete this fully before dispatch. Includes a premium portable SS bat cover.

Frequently asked questions

The Master 5000 is the entry-level bat in SS TON's Master Series — positioned above general-purpose bats and aimed at advanced club and league players who want a professionally developed English willow bat built to international player specifications. Above it sits the Silver Edition, Gold Edition and higher-grade Master Series models.
The Master 5000 punches well above its price point. The full-back profile with minimal concaving, concave TON edges and flat face deliver genuine power and ping — the same profile principles used in SS's higher-tier bats. It is one of the best value professionally-developed English willow bats available for club and league cricketers.
The Master 5000 uses a full-back profile with minimal concaving — meaning very little wood is removed from the back of the blade. This leaves maximum willow behind the sweet spot, delivering outstanding power and ping. It suits players who prioritise power hitting over a traditional concave feel.
Yes. The bat arrives at around 90–95% moisture and requires oiling and knocking in before match use. If our bat preparation service is enabled, we handle this fully before dispatch. If preparing yourself, apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil to the face, edges and toe, leave overnight, then work through 3–4 knocking sessions from light to heavy.
All SS English willow bats include a 3D hologram on the back of the bat and a stretchable barcode on the rear. The authentication number from the barcode can be verified on the SS Cricket website or through the SS mobile app.
Most club players choose between 2lb 8oz and 2lb 10oz for the Master 5000. Message Yaseer on WhatsApp and he'll advise based on your playing style and the formats you play.
