About this bat

The CA Charge is CA Sports' standalone power bat — a serious English willow cricket bat built outside the numbered Gold and Pro ranges for aggressive stroke-makers who want a bat with serious punch, excellent balance, and a profile engineered specifically for front-foot domination. At this price point it sits alongside CA's established Gold and Pro mid-range bats, delivering comparable build quality in a distinct, named model built around a single brief: explosive hitting.

The blade features a mid-to-low sweet spot with thick edges and a slightly bowed profile — maximum wood behind the ball, engineered to generate power through the line on front-foot drives and big hitting shots. The full-profile design means the sweet spot is accessible across a wide range of strokes, while the slightly curved blade adds extra punch at impact. The semi-oval handle delivers a comfortable, controlled grip for long innings and reduces vibration through the hands on hard-hit balls.

CA's Glass Protek technology is applied to the face at the factory, reinforcing the willow surface and protecting against early cracking. As with all English willow bats, oiling and knocking in is required before match use — where bat preparation is enabled, we complete this fully before dispatch so the bat arrives ready to play. The bat ships with CA's bold Charge branding and a protective bat cover.

Frequently asked questions

The CA Charge sits outside CA's numbered ranges — it's a standalone model positioned at the same level as CA's mid-range Gold and Pro bats. Where the Gold and Pro ranges are tiered numbered lineups, the Charge is a distinct bat built around a specific profile: powerful, front-foot aggressive batting. If you're choosing between the Charge and a Gold 15000 or Pro 15000, the main difference is the blade profile — the Charge's slightly bowed blade and mid-to-low sweet spot are specifically tuned for power hitting.
Glass Protek is CA's proprietary face treatment — a reinforcing layer applied directly to the willow surface at the factory. It protects against early surface cracking and extends the lifespan of the bat's face. It does not replace the need to knock the bat in before use.
Yes — all English willow bats require knocking in before match use. If our bat preparation service is enabled, we oil, machine-knock and fit a scuff sheet before dispatch so it arrives ready to play. If preparing it yourself, start with light oiling, leave it to dry overnight, then progress from light to heavy knocking over several sessions.
Yes. Select an extra grip in the add-ons section and we'll fit it to the bat before it leaves us. Available in Gray-Nicolls, GM Terrain and SG Player options.
Available weights and handle types are listed as variants on the product page. If you're unsure which suits your game, message Yaseer on WhatsApp and he'll help you choose.
Most players opt for between 2lb 8oz and 2lb 11oz for the CA Charge. The bowed blade and mid-to-low sweet spot carry well at heavier weights — power hitters who want maximum impact through the ball tend to go for 2lb 10oz or 2lb 11oz, while players who prefer pick-up and bat speed usually find 2lb 8oz or 2lb 9oz the sweet spot.
