About this bat
The Gray Nicolls Legend Gold Edition is the pinnacle of GN's bat-making heritage — using only the top 1% of available English willow for the finest clean, straight grains and maximum performance potential. Handcrafted at GN's Robertsbridge workshop from their own Salix willow plantations, it combines 150 years of craftsmanship with a mid-blade profile built for all-round excellence.
The blade features a mid blade with exaggerated spine, large offset edges and a classic round toe — giving an exceptional balance of pick-up and power across front and back foot play. The semi-oval handle with TRACTION PRO grip provides responsive feedback and comfort through long innings. Despite the full profile, the mid-to-high balance point creates a feather-light pick-up.
The Legend Gold Edition includes a premium carry case and laser-etched branding. Like all English willow bats, it requires knocking in before match use — where our bat preparation service is enabled, we complete this fully before dispatch. Willow grade is comparable to Grade 1+ from independent graders — the top 1% of available clefts from GN's own Salix plantations.
